Ngurdoto Research Center (Arusha)

The Ngurdoto Research Center is a specialized facility under Water Institute (WI), dedicated to promoting research, innovation, and technological development in the water sector. Located in Arusha, the center focuses on conducting scientific studies and developing practical solutions to address challenges in water supply, sanitation, and resource management. It serves as a hub for academic research, policy development, and capacity building, supporting sustainable water resource management in Tanzania and beyond.

The center was officially handed over to Water Institute by the Minister for Water, Hon. Jumaa Hamidu Aweso (MP), on February 27, 2022, during a ceremony held at the center’s grounds in Arusha. This handover marked a significant milestone in strengthening the institute’s ability to deliver innovative solutions and research-based interventions for the water sector.
