Ubungo Main Campus

Water Institute (WI) Ubungo Campus is the main campus of the Water Institute, established in 1975 and changed to an Executive Agency on August 22nd, 2008, under the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, in accordance with the Executive Agency Act CAP 245 (Revised Edition; R.E 2009). The campus is dedicated to providing high-quality expertise in the water sector through training, consultancy, and research, following the guidelines of the Ministry of Water and the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).

The Ubungo Campus offers Bachelor Degree and Ordinary Diploma programmes, all fully accredited by NACTE, as well as ready-made and tailor-made short courses. Currently, there are approximately 52 specialized short courses in areas such as water supply, water resources planning, design, procurement, laws, and management.

As a leading technical training institution, the Ubungo Campus plays a crucial role in developing the technical human resource capacity required for the sustainable development and management of water resources. The campus also provides advisory and consultancy services to stakeholders in need of expertise in water development and resource management.
