Water Institute Hosts Chinese Delegation
A strategic meeting between the Water Institute's
management, led by Rector Dr. Adam O. Karia, and distinguished guests from
China, including Pan Hao (Director of New Energy Vehicle Technology, Shenzhen
Polytechnic University), Liang Guangmin (Director of Computer Network
Technology, Shenzhen Polytechnic University), Chen Li (Vice Principal, Hunan
Mechanical & Electrical Polytechnic), Wu Zhengqian (Associate Dean, Hunan
Mechanical & Electrical Polytechnic), Ma Guoping (Director of Enrollment
and Career Services, Hunan Mechanical & Electrical Polytechnic), Li Fenghua
(Officer of International Affairs Office, Zhejiang Institute of Mechanical
& Electrical Engineering), Wu Hongjie (Vice Principal, Guangdong Polytechnic
of Water Resources and Electric Engineering), Zhang Jin (Director of Academic
Affairs, Guangdong Polytechnic of Water Resources and Electric Engineering),
Gong Zhiwu (Director General, China-Africa Vocational Education Alliance), and
Li Linlu (Coordinator, China-Africa Vocational Education Alliance).
The agenda focuses on innovation and skills development in water, sanitation,
solar power energy, and engineering. Discussions cover water resources and
electrical engineering, pump mechanics and engineering, pipe networks and
systems, teaching/training workshops and laboratories, and the design and
evaluation of competence-based teaching and learning. Additionally, the
conversation includes addressing climate change challenges, flood management
systems, appropriate technologies, and liquid and solid waste management.
