This is a service academic department that provides teaching services to all other academic departments in areas of Applied Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Research Methods, Communication Skills, Computer Application, Financial Management, Technical Report Writing, Gender, Business and Entrepreneurship.

The department cut across all other departments to provide assistance in teaching, examination and research carried out diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level. The department collaborates with quality assurance unit of the Institute to ensure quality delivery of academic, research and consultancy services
